In anything Better From Here Music offers, it strives to give the best and most honest service possible. Kristen, (known as artist "Larkn"), founder of Better From Here Music, is a classically trained vocalist, multi-instrumentalist, songwriter, music organizer, producer and recording engineer that studied Contemporary Writing and Production at Berklee College of Music.
She received a world-class education in music and ear training at Berklee, has been in some of the top recording studios in the world in Los Angeles and is an independent music artist, so she has
"been there" and understands what it's like.
Kristen has been making music for over two decades, received a certificate in audio engineering and production from Washtenaw Community College in Ann Arbor, Michigan where she was President of Washtenaw Audio and Video Engineers Society and is Avid-certified in Pro Tools. She has recorded or interned in recording studios across the United States, collaborated or worked with some of the world's top music producers and has experience in production for singer-songwriters and the music industry. Kristen has organized independent music events at small businesses like cafes, music stores and record stores and medium-larger sized spaces such 100-300 cap music venues and malls.
She preaches a "process-based" approach towards music business, harnessing technology and building relationships based on collaboration, transparency and integrity in order to succeed.
All Better From Here Services have been created with the utmost care and love to deliver meaningful tools to independent musicians and artists without discrimination looking to elevate their songwriting and music careers or take advantage of opportunities resources made available by Better From Here Music.
Better From Here Music understands that music genre and needs/budgets vary considerably and will do it's best to assemble the right team to reach the results of your project. If your project requires multiple engineers or is best suited for a specific recording environment or music producer, I Kristen at Better From Here Music will do my best to make recommendations and/or offer options.

A detail-elevated service, Better From Here Music believes that pre-production is important for a project to reach its intended goal. Kristen, founder of Better From Here Music has worked in recording studios across the United States and is an Avid-certifeid Pro Tools audio engineer and music producer. Better From Here Music understands that taking care to not "over-strain" a budget of importance to a great number of independent music artists and bands trying to make smart business decisions. Also, we believe more is not always better. A great live recording of an outstanding song might pack more bunch than a fully studio-produced, but medicore album. Don't waste your money! Songwriting
Let's talk about songwriting or collaborations as it relates to your career.
- Co-writes: A very popular industry staple. Artists generally sit down with a pro writer and try to get the best songwriting and performance out of an artist. Writers co-own the music.
- Song or artist critique: Generally reserved for newer or less experienced songwriters, songwriting is reviewed and critiqued on an individual basis. Tips for how to strengthen the song are given.
- Song analysis plays out like a songwriting. class or lesson.

An artists direct experiences are their BEST teacher, but some additional experience might be valuable to give you an edge on your competitor.
- New Producers Production Basics/Consultation: an excellent one hour session to discuss production approaches to music *50 dollars per one full hour session.
- Basic Music training (basic music theory and keyboard skills) *30 Dollars per 30 minute lesson.
- The Creative Entrepreneur and independent artist coaching/How To Harness The Best Creative Performance: 45 minute coaching sessions that individually coach artists *First one is free, 25 dollars thereafter for each 30 minutes, i.e. One hour = $50, two hours =$100, etc.
